Jordan's Quest is a for profit corporation dedicated to educating parents of children 0-18 years of age, on ways to bond and discipline their children without the fear of lowering their child's self-esteem.  Children are wonderful gifts from God and it is important that families decide early what type of preventive techniques that will help their children thrive and grow up to become successful and productive citizens.  Jordan 's Quest began on September 1, 2004, as a parent education service to:
  • Families experiencing homelessness
  • Court ordered child support and divorce cases
  • Virginia Correctional Centers
  • Child Care Centers
  • Department of Social Services
  • Churches and other community groups who need assistance in helping their families learn ways to direct their children.
We show parents that they are not alone when it comes to having a child whose behavior is inappropriate.  There are ways to guide children so that they grow up to become confident and responsible adults.  We help parents understand that children are not born to make our lives miserable but they do depend on us to guide them and model for them the correct way to behave. Mrs. Jordan, Parent Educator /Consultant for Jordan's Quest, has assisted families while working in a variety of jobs where children were involved.  Most recently she has held positions as an:
  • In Home Child Care Provider (9 years),
  • Lead teacher at the Lewis Children Center (9 years),
  • Child Service Coordinator and Parent Educator for Flagler Home (transitional housing program for those experiencing homelessness, 4 years),
  • Classroom Volunteer for Richmond City  Public School kindergarten children at risk.(2nd term).
  • Guest Parent Educator for the Goochland Correctional Center for Women (pre-release,7 months),
  • Department of Social Services, Child Support Enforcement (7 months),
  • Former Case Aide and Parent Educator for Henrico Area Mental Health & Retardation Services (3 years).
Mrs. Jordan has also completed C.I.S.M. training (Critical Incidence Stress Management training for children).  This training is used immediately after a child has experienced trauma and is in need of being with someone trained to comfort them after a tragic event, until a licensed counselor arrives on the scene.  Our goal is to keep up with new and innovative ways that will assist parents be at their best when it comes to being a successful parent.
